We’ve received a few emails on some topics we’ve blogged about recently, so instead of only responding to the emails, I thought I’d share them here.
Re: You don’t have as much debt as we do. But keep on truckin’!
We never said that we were the be-all-end-all of debt in this country. BUT, if you look at Neo’s Nest Egg’s Personal Finance Bloggers Chart for January 2006, we’re definitely the ONLY one in the negative. We thought that we could provide a unique perspective on personal finance, especially since we seem to fit with the Generation Debt stereotype. But thanks for the encouragement!
Re: Be careful with balance transfers! Don’t use those cards!
Thanks for the advice! A few months before we moved in together, we decided that we wouldn’t use credit cards for non-emergency purposes. So far we’ve paid over $6,000 down on credit card and student loan debt, and haven’t accrued any new debt.
As stated earlier, there is a 3% balance transfer fee on the MBNA Fidelity Visa, but that is nothing compared to the interest we’re saving in the long run. The balance transfer fee on the Citicard is free of charge, so there’s nothing to worry there.

No, we will not link to your link farms. Nor will we participate in any shady clicking of your Google Ads. If you do have something that our readers might actually use, that’s a different story.
