So yeah, we redesigned.

Do you like it?

Is there anything that's broken?

Personally, I love it. I wasn't a fan of MLND2.0 (well, not a fan of the layout, that is). Now if only you could work your magic on my site. I'm not a fan of its layout, either...

I'm using latest version of Firefox and the subtitle "A relationship finance blog" is all pushed over to the right and goes into the First Time Visitor? and Net Worth boxes (which are also slightly off). Otherwise - I approve! Definitely more professional looking!

I'm using Safari 2 on Mac OS 10.4 and it looks great.

yeah, i'm using firefox as well, and it looks like your header should go all the way across and it's not registering or something. download firefox and see for yourself so you can fix it.

otherwise, it's clean and nice. :)

the problem is that using firefox or camino with adblocking turned on causes the 'first time visitor' and 'net worth' to get messed up.

Yes! I think it's much easier on the eyes :)

Looks like it's working fine in Internet Explorer. Love the new look - much easier on the eyes!

first time visitor. i think the new layout is lovely (tho adblock does seem to screw it up).

I like the colors, but I still find it really hard to read with the extremely large advertising blocks.

I'm using Internet Explorer and the header overlaps the "First time visitor?" box. I'm in China, though, and yours wouldn't be the first website to go cattywampus when put through the Chinese Internet blender.

Oh wow, this is SO much cleaner. I never did like the brown and pink thing you had going before.

I'm in FF, no ad block running, and the columns are neat and square, and everything looks pretty fantastic :-)

Hmm, it appears I may be the only dissenter, here, but I actually don't like this one. I find there's too much white, & so it's a little hard on the eyes. I liked your previous theme as it was easier to read. But that's just my opinion. :-)

The layout is very pretty, but I miss sans serif fonts. On a white background, the serifs 'vibrate' and hurt my eyes. I have this problem with the NYT as well, and my first thought is that this reminds me of their site, without the orange accents.

I'm suing Firefox 2.0.0.6 and I don't seem to have a header problem. Oh. I just changed the window size and I see what they mean, but I don't think it's an issue. The aesthetic is maintained and the 'balance' of the header is dependent on the width of the window and you'll just have to live with it. (I know that's why my header looks off.)

I'm using IE 7 and the comment box overlaps your copyright info until the box is clicked on. I personally don't care for the design. Too much white space, format is too wide, the header is too wide forcing the user to do a lot of scrolling in both directions unless in full screen to get to the main content.

The white background hurts the eyes...perhaps an ecru? mushroom? oyster?dove grey?

Clean layout. Works well in both IE7 and FF

The new look is very nice overall, but I don't like the white either. It's already hurting my eyes, almost to the point of forcing me go do something else.

This one is only slightly easier to read than the last one, and that one was painful.

At least I continue to like the content, but eesh, you aren't making it easy!

Also it is not right-sizing in explorer (I know, it's my employer-provided laptop, I don't get to load my own browser). Especially noticable on the net worth number--the minus sign is showing on the line above the number, so it looks liek a positive net worth. Or is it supposed to be positive?

I like it waaaay better. The last layout was really hard on the eyes, so much so that I couldn't read it. I just happened to stop by today, and it's tons better. I'm using firefox, and I've got my monitor brightness dimmed (all the time) so it does look a little more off-white than bright white.

I like it a bunch- very nice layout. Classy.

By the way good job knocking out nearly 20K in debt over the last couple months.

I love the design and layout. I've only been reading your blog for a few days so I never saw the previous incarnation. I like the varying font sizes and spacing and I think black and red are a classy color choice. The white background doesn't really bother me, but I do know what people mean. I have had trouble when people use red on blue or other unusual combinations. In one instance it turned out to be the type of monitor - the colors were chosen on a CRT but had a different, hard to read appearance on a Flat Panel.

I don't know what other color you could use as a background without messing up the color scheme. One thing I would suggest to those people who have a hard time reading it, is to turn down the brightness and/or contrast on their monitors. I have mine at about 50% each. I tried turning each up to 100% and it was indeed much, much harder on the eyes.
